Making Plans
Summer is here! The long days and early sunrises mean I have been able to sneak up the hill for a quick ride before the baby wakes up. Getting back in the saddle consistently (even if just for a week so far) feels wonderful, and I am amazed at how my mare easily picks right back up.
If the baby can keep sleeping and I can keep riding consistently, maybe I’ll even make it to some of our fall activities. There’s a fall dressage clinic in the works with Jamie Lawrence-Slocum and a few other clinic possibilities underway (check the minutes!). Also, a fall show is in the planning stages.
The club happenings and news are pretty quiet right now since mostly things are in the committee planning stages. Therefore, our meeting on Wednesday will be brief followed by social hour. Come out and join us! Angelo’s at 7pm on Wed, June 10.
As always, send me your horsey happenings, pictures, articles, etc. for next month’s newsletter! You can email me direct at [email protected], or reply to this email.
I hope you all are getting some time in the saddle!
Anne

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Q&A with Josette Clark: From horseshow mom to Pony Cup championships and beyond!
Each month, Direct Rein will highlight a CDCTA member and give us a chance to learn more about the people behind our club.
For our second Member Spotlight, we're featuring Josette Clark, CDCTA secretary and owner of the amazing Haflinger pony Delilah. After years of being a dedicated horse show mom, Josette decided it was finally her turn to ride. Since then, she and Delilah have tackled dressage, trail riding, and even foxhunting. Josette also gives back to the sport through her volunteer work with CDCTA as secretary, membership chair, and annual convention delegate.
