Competitions
CDCTA & WWU to co-host fall dressage schooling show Nov 7 & 8.
Lauren is working with SLADS to get details on how to make this show “recognized” for WDAA at request of several people on FB posts. SLADS has made their schooling shows WDAA recognized and sounds like it is very easy to do so, will require an approved judge.
Lauren & Shelley met with WWU - will be able to have stall access starting Friday after lunch thru Sunday show. Schooling allowed Fri and before/after show on Sat/Sun. Stalls will be very affordable and come fully bedded. Huge opportunity to grow attendance for both CDCTA & WWU.
Cannot accommodate a CT in Nov due to variability in weather with need to use 3 arenas to do so; but WWU does suggest we join in on one of their HJ schooling shows this fall OR plan accordingly in 2027 to schedule dates where it will be feasible to rent 3 arenas to do a dressage + CT.
Education
Unmounted - arrange for group trip to audit JJ Tate Symposium in August 15/16? Application deadline for riders was 7/15, unsure if auditors had to sign up before this date - would need to investigate if there is interest. Would also need to check with KCDS to see if they have room for a group to come before signing up. Auditing is $75 for both days, $40 for one day.
Mounted - Ideas for education committee to discuss & contact to schedule:
JUMPING:
1) Jeannine Lamb - from Chicago (Marian Michalson’s trainer) - need to get dates to Marian to propose to Jeannine to finalize
2) Julie Wolfert - Date SET! July 25/26 @ Amulette. Amulette will have two workers out during this time frame and will need volunteers to help this run. Sign up was passed around for volunteers Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Contact Holly if interested in helping!
DRESSAGE:
1) Dressage - Jamie Lawrence Slocum to be at Stacey Bates’ farm October 17th & 18th
2) Dressage #2 - Wick - check with Alison to see any movement on finalizing date - Alison confirmed no movement at this time.
3) Riding/Driving Clinic - Rhonda Boles is happy to work with education committee to get this clinic scheduled & coordinate between Parvetti Woods (clinician) & Lisa Morrissey (host). Lisa volunteered to coordinate the communication and dates for 2027 with Pravetti.
4) Lisa also mentioned Alex du Celliee Muller for a Dressage clinic in 2027.
Other Business
CDCTA Pool Party/Potluck - to be held at Karen Atwill’s Saturday, August 22nd with Sunday August 23rd being rain date if needed. No formal meeting for August, board will discuss any issues or upcoming events.
September meeting location TBD, potential change of venue.
