Business Reports
Treasurer’s Report:
Main Fund - 9,525.68; Liz Fund - 2170.34
Membership Report:
Josette is out, we think the membership is the same as last month.
Communications:
The newsletter will come from another email system (this is it!). Anne will send an email letting you know to check for the new email in case it goes to your junk.
Competitions
Spring show cancelled:
Need to cancel the show because Amulette is quarantining and may not be cleared before the date of our show.
It would be good to find another venue that we could also use. It is tricky to find a facility that fulfills our arena needs (long enough for a large court, multiple arenas or enough space for warmup, dressage, jumping).
Shelley has been trying to communicate with WWU, we believe it’s $500/arena and $35/stall.
Marian communicated with Stephens equestrian program manager (Sara Linde), still waiting on pricing.
Show committee would prefer to have a facility with stalls available.
Beth Hussey Memorial Trophy: We have the perpetual trophy that will be engraved with the winner and year, but we need a smaller, affordable award/trophy/ribbon for the winner to take home. Ideas? Email Lauren [email protected] if you have any suggestions!
Education
Jumping clinics:
Jeannine Lamb from Chicago (Marian Michalson’s trainer) is a potential. She has come to the area several times via Marian, the clinic filled easily and the riders had positive feedback. She’ll teach flat or jumping. Marian and/or Ben could coordinate with education committee.
Julie Wolfert: Alison is going to coordinate with Julie on a possible date (historically July is her availability) and report back to the education committee.
Dressage clinics:
Stacey Bates is working to get a date for Jamie Lawrence Slocum for a fall clinic.
Let us know if you have ideas for a clinician who would be a good fit for our club clinic (appealing to our auditors, inclusive of an educational event). We need to start this summer/fall to schedule a bigger name clinician for 2027 and/or to schedule a spring clinic for 2027.
Any other clinics (driving, unmounted, etc), send them. There was suggestion of a combined driving clinic and interest from meeting attendees in auditing. Lisa Morrissey offered to host a driving clinic.
